Keep Rivers Wild for Wildlife
Nebraska Wildlife Activities
Migration Mayhem
Students will be
able to: learn the names of some at-risk water birds that migrate through
Nebraska; 2) list limiting factors affecting populations of migrating water
birds; 3) describe the effects of habitat loss and degradation on populations of
migrating water birds; and 4) make inferences about the importance of suitable

At Risk Animals
Some of Nebraska's
rarest fish, birds and animals depend on rivers to survive. Students will learn
about eight at-risk wildlife species in Nebraska, and use that knowledge to
correctly identify the species using questions and answers. To download a

Run Fox Run
Students will be
able to identify the essential components of habitat: food, water and shelter.
Using the swift fox as an example, they will learn the importance of good
habitat, and recognize how habitat changes impact a species. To download a

Prairie Bingo
As your students
walk through a prairie, schoolyard or nature area, students can look for the
