Each year, the Nebraska Wildlife Federation joins the National Wildlife Federation's celebration of National Wildlife Week, by producing a Wildlife Week Nebraska education kit that is distributed to Nebraska fourth, fifth, and sixth grade teachers, and the designated science and natural resource teachers at our state's middle schools and high schools. In 2005, about 5,000 Wildlife Week Nebraska educator kits were distributed. The kits included information about the Nebraska Wildlife Federation's annual grade school poster contest.

     The theme of the 2005 Wildlife Week, and the grade school poster contest, was "What Can You See on a Tallgrass Prairie?" In June, the Federation presented awards for the state's best posters from hundreds submitted from all across the state.
